Behind the Brand: APPARIS

Every season we aspire to offer our Curation Members a standout accessory that’s sure to instantly elevate their wardrobes. And this winter, we think we nailed it! Each box contains APPARIS’ Bambi Scarf, an ivory faux fur scarf that not only captures the festive spirit of the holiday season (Hello, glamorous party looks!) but also embodies what the brand itself is all about!

APPARIS may be based in New York, but thanks to its French founders, Amelie Brick and Lauren Nouchi, it has a Parisian sense of style. Brick and Nouchi left their previous gigs in luxury fashion houses to create something more ethical and sustainable than is typically found in the industry. In its early days APPARIS, quickly earned as following for its faux fur outerwear pieces (like the Bambi!), but has since evolved into a complete line of lifestyle items, with everything from throw blankets to bucket hats. It even includes offerings for kids and pets now, too!

Whether you already received our winter curation or have yet to sign up for our seasonal boxes, we thought you would be just as inspired by APPARIS’ mission as we are—so we’re sharing its story with you all! Ahead, get the scoop, straight from Co-founder and Creative Director Lauren Nouchi, who shares more info about her brand’s vegan materials as well as why the Bambi Scarf is the perfect winter accessory, and the other APPARIS styles that are hot this season!

What drew you to the idea of creating more sustainable fashions?
We felt that we do not need to harm animals to make trendy and high quality fashion.

Your line began with your signature faux fur pieces (like the scarf in our winter box!). Can you share how the brand has evolved since then?
Since our signature faux fur piece, we introduced more vegan fabrics including our plant-based fur, plant-based shearling, and vegan leather. We also introduced our home collection.

What are some of the ways APPARIS keeps sustainability and ethics in mind when creating pieces?
We only use fabrics that are 100% animal-free and use as many recycled and or plant-based as possible. We also make sure to avoid excess inventory and our packaging is recycled.

We’re thrilled to offer our curation members the Bambi Scarf in our winter box! Can you explain why this makes a perfect intro to the brand for anyone who is not yet familiar? And what are your favorite ways to style this piece this season?
The Bambi Scarf is made of our soft faux fur, which is so cozy and warm; it is great to wear it with its matching colored faux fur coats or with one of our vegan leather puffer.

What are some of your other favorite APPARIS pieces to wear this winter?
So many! Our Jemma vegan leather puffer is the perfect puffer, super trendy, timeless and keeps warm.

We know our community is going to fall in love with Apparis, so what should they be looking out for in the future? Any hints about future collections you can reveal?
We just launched APPARIS Ski, a non-performance après-ski collection! We are very happy with this new capsule and are planning on extending it.
